Lady Shepherd was born today, on New Year's Eve, 31st December 1777.
I've been spending time thinking about her throughout 2018 even though I've been researching and writing up my 2nd volume on Spinoza, available at: myspinozaresearchdiary.blogspot.com/2018/08/
Sometimes I've been struck by similarities between the two of them, despite their obvious superficial differences. At first, I was going to put Lady Shepherd and Spinoza into the same volume 1 book to compare and contrast their metaphysics and rationalistic philosophy. But then I changed my mind because there is too much to say about both of them individually and secondly, their readership may not be the same.
More coming soon on Shepherd!
